In search of a new location for their business, American Freight collaborated with First Peak Construction to breathe life into a vacant 33,000 square feet space that sat dormant for over a decade. This project included an extensive demolition process to clear the way for the buildout, including the removal of existing bathrooms, the mezzanine, and all framing and drywall to create a blank canvas for our team to work with. 

To enhance the overall appeal of the space, First Peak Construction implemented standard cosmetic updates, installing new drywall, painting, and refinishing floors. In addition to these enhancements, substantial MEP and HVAC upgrades were performed to enhance energy efficiency and provide the infrastructure to accommodate restrooms, utility connections, and the increased demands of American Freight’s operations. Work included the installation of three new 25-ton rooftop units (RTUs), upgrades to the electrical panel and gas meter system, increasing the size of the sprinkler main, and the addition of underground plumbing lines . 

The opening and ceiling height of the loading dock was extended to accommodate large deliveries. A new electric dock leveler was installed, along with a new 10’x10′ overhead door, and a ramp, facilitating the efficient offloading of furniture and appliances.
